Dental Porcelain Veneers
Process
In general, the porcelain veneers process will require two visits to the dental office.

In the first visit, the dentist will prepare the teeth by removing a very small layer of enamel from the tooth or teeth that are getting the veneers. He or she will then take a mold of the teeth that will be sent off to the lab where the veneers are prepared, with the finished pieces custom made to perfectly fit your teeth. There is a feeling for many that the removal of enamel may be a painful process, but that is absolutely not the case. The amount of enamel removed is actually very small, with the majority of patients not even requiring an anesthetic for the process.

Once your veneers are ready, you will head back to the dentist to have them put in place. The veneers essentially act like a cover for your teeth, slipping over top to give the appearance of a healthy, shining tooth. The changes delivered by veneers are immediate and impressive, but perhaps best of all, the entire process, from start to finish, is about as painless as it gets. We want every patient to feel as comfortable as possible, so we will always go out of our way to make sure that you always feel relaxed when you visit our Delta Dentistry Office.

Dental Veneers lifespan
One of the concerns we hear from patients is that they are concerned that their veneers might break long before their estimated 10-15-year lifespan. While there is a chance that a veneer might break, we do all we can to ensure that this will not be the case. One of the things that a good dentist will do before offering a veneer is evaluate the bite of the patient. Doing so helps the dentist and the lab create a veneer that is designed to not just fit your teeth, but also accommodate your bite style in a way where breakage will not be much of an issue.

Dental Veneer's Benefits
One of the real benefits of veneers is that people will never know that you have them. They are designed to look and feel like real teeth, making your great smile look totally natural. Looking after them involves the same steps you would take in looking after your original teeth, which means brushing, flossing, and rinsing with antiseptic mouthwash at least twice per day. Maintain good dental health procedures and your veneers will last a very long time.

Dental Veneer's Insurance
Whether you choose porcelain or resin veneers, the common question is whether your insurance offers any benefits for those procedures. For the most part, cosmetic procedures, such as veneers, are not covered by insurance. There are exceptions to the rule, which can be explored, plus we can help put together a payment plan.
